Grandfathering is when a rules change is made so that something, say weopons or classes, or class combo or something like that, is no longer available IG.
What do you do with the people who already have that build / weopon / spell /whatever?
To remove it is not necessarily fair to them, to let them keep it is not necessarily fair to everyone else who's newer.
We think that the best way is probably to say that on the whole grandfathering won't be allowed often, but we'll take it on a case by case basis.
for the sake fo game balance, it may sometimes be necessary to no long allow someone's build. If they are significantly affected in that case, they will get a rebuild.
On -some- occasions, a limited compensation may be offered. It certainly won't be automatic.
