Few can argue that one of the most rewarding experiences or stories in any role-playing game almost always involves a main antagonist. It is their evil machinations that drive entire stories, movies, novels and video games. Lord of the Rings, Dragonlance, Starwars, World of Warcraft, Dragon Age, even Batman, Pokemon and Super Mario! They all have a well crafted and believable Evil that drives them. By the end of the movie/book/show/game/whatever, often times we ourselves are glad to see them defeated.

These successful nemeses are quite varied; each unique in it's own way. These are the types we hope to see in those evil characters that our players choose to play.

No body thinks about the draconian that Tanis killed, or the storm trooper that died, or even the goomba that you just bounced off of. These are the faceless, uninteresting NPCs that our characters battle every day. These are not the types we hope to see our players create.

We invite our players to challenge themselves by creating and playing a succesful, believable, multi-dimensional and complex evil character. These characters are tantamount to a living NPC or villain, normally reserved for DM control. Having said that, please be aware that these characters are not for everyone. They are extraordinarily difficult to play properly. Just as extraordinary classes, races and characters are measured against very high standards, so too will evil characters be measured. The DM and rp admin teams will be carefully monitoring all evil characters. If at any time we feel that you are not successfully rising to the challenge of playing an evil character (or any other difficult character type for that matter), we may ask to review or revise your character concept. Please do not take this as an insult, but instead view it as an opportunity to work with others to truly bring unique and dynamic dimensions to your character.

A successful evil character will be more than a bully with a power build, a big ego and/or a big sword. The most successful villains will engage in plotting, treachery, and other shady activities. We hope to see complex characters like The Penguin, Catwoman, Kitiara, the Evil Queen (Snowhite), Jafar (Aladdin), and Hannibal Lector. We do not wish to see Freddy Krueger (Nightmare on Elm St), Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th), and Frankenstein. If we feel that an evil character exists for no reason other than to engage in PVP, we will review and/or revise that character. Similarly, if we feel any character concept is engaging in an abundance of PVP for any reason, we may ask that character be retired and a character concept that is more appropriate to the server be considered.
